I currently have 4 IP cameras (panasonic). We use a windows base program (icatcher) and it provides some great features...but it bogs down my system entirely when recording. I do no think it's very efficient, being my system is an i7 and the cameras are not even HD.
So I have a spare computer that I'm thinking about putting linux on; I hear Zone Minder is a really well-developed program.
The issue is, I have never dealt with linux before. I've been reading the zone minder wiki and installation looks complicated but do-able.
Has anyone used this program?
I figured I should try Linux first before I go out and purchase something like this
