"Zone B" getting hot

im having a little trouble keeping my "zone b" temp down. its hotter then the processor. i dont think thats normal. what can i do about this?

the zone b temp reaches around 55 (while playing a game) sometimes and thats too hot for comfort. intel said its safe to increase the threshold to 60. but its hitting 55 so ide like to lower it a lot more so it doesnt go past 50 at least.

i have a 640 processor and xp120 w/ nexus fan and yate looks for intake/exhaust and soon to put zalman vf700 for gpu.
what can i do to fix this problem? and there anything i can even do?

If you chose yes, then forget about it.

If you chose no, then its a problem.

yea, its super stable. never got a crash or anything. but ide still like lower the temp.

Thats why i don't look at temperatures anymore. They make you worried over nothing

Its very difficult to get an accurate temperature reading.

i think i may know part of the problem. my psu unit exhaust air is kinda hot. is that normal? i believe the psu is exhausting a lot of the hot air in my case so maybe i need a better fan for the psu or better psu with better fan? i wont be able to buy another psu because i just dont have the money nor am i willing to spend the money but is it normal for the air coming out of it to be kinda hot?

i think i may have found a solution! my zone b temps are uncommonly low when i did this. i undervolted a panaflo 120 mm L1A to 7 volts using a cable thing. (just wanted low noise) and i removed almost all the pci slot covers, put the fan to exhaust air through the pci slots and now im getting much lower zone b temps. i think the problem is the video card is releasing a lot of hot hot air and its getting lead up to the zone b and processor zones to exhaust the hot air causing them to heat up, but now it goes straight out through the pci slots so it doesnt have a chance to heat up any other components. my temps went from like 53 degrees to about 45. huge difference. im gonna play with it a little more to see if thats what really did the trick and try out some other configs. maybe i should get a smaller fan to fit the pci slots a little better cuz the 120 mm fan is pretty big

Well the psu draws air from inside the case and expels it out, so no, I don't think thats your problem. If it is exhausting air into the case the there might be something wrong, but i doubt thats the case.

my zone b temps are starting to hit 55 and maybe even higher, im not sure cuz i was in the game but when i checked temps after i played the game for a while, it would read about 53 then slowly cool off. that is way too hot for comfort. 60 is intels limit. i dont understand why my comp would be getting so hot, i have good fans and a good case and theres no obstructions. i have a vf7000 cu also for the graphics card....

You really ahvent given a whole lot of accurate information in order for people to help you...this zone a and zone b stuff is BS....just spell out the problem in english.

As for your PSU...theres noway it should be blowing hot air into your case.
If thats the case then you have a problem that needs to be corrected with the PSU!!

Also youy never did tell us exactly where or what type or how many fans you are using to cool your case!

i never said the psu was blowing hot air into the case. and the Zone A and Zone B "BS" is referring to the temperature sensors on my motherboard. if you read my previous posts, youll see what im talking about.

i have a p160 case. i have a xp 120 cooled by a nexus. intake and exhaust are yate loons 120. and i have a 92 nexus fan hooked up to the empty pci slots exhausting air through there aswell.

If Intel says 60 is OK I'd go with that. Adding a fan to scrub that area would prolly lower those temps but Intel might have
some experiance about heat and their boards

Seriously, thanks for the info from Intel as I'm using a D865perlk and the 1&2 zones get up to 45 on a hot day w/moderate
comp use.

this only happens when im playing games, its usually at around 43 when just using the comp normally. im just worried about it when im gaming.
