When I go into the services menu and try to start the True Vector service manualy, it tells me "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"

What services does Zone Alarm need before it will work? I'm using Windows XP Home with DEFAULT SERVICES. By that I mean I have not tweaked ANYTHING Windows or service related.

You have Zonealarm installed? In my Windows 2000 Pro system with Zonealarm, for the Truevector Internet Monitor service (which in my system is started and automatic), in the Dependencies tab is RPC (Remote Procedure Call).

Yes it is installed. When ZA starts it has a big X in the system tray. When I maximize it, it says there was a system error and that I should restart the computer.
Remote Procedure Call works fine on this computer. That service is so important that you are not even allowed to stop it.

Maybe you can get some free tech support from Zonelabs. I'd try. I like Zonealarm a LOT. It seems to have none of the aggravating things that I keep noticing in Symantec software (Norton Systemworks), for instance, with the exception of Ghost (which they didn't develop, but just bought out).
