zone alarm with DSL

IGBT

Lifer
..anybody know how to transition zone alarm from dialup config.to DSL?? otherwise it kills DSL connection. No dialog boxes are showing up asking me to allow connection.

..thanks John. ATT/Yahoo DSL support people advised me to discard zoneAlarm and download their yahoo firewall. I've never had a problem wit ZA but always used it wit dialup. Now I have DSL and from time to time it interferes and stops me from accessing the ATT/Yahoo server. It never prompts wit a dialog box when it fails to access. Requires me to right click in the syst.tray and shut it down then I can access the server with DSL. Any thoughts on this? Thanks very much. 🙂

I despise software firewalls for that very reason. If your DSL modem has a built in router a software firewall isn't even necessary IMHO. However you could always enable the built in XP firewall since it is less obtrusive.

..yes the DSL modem has a router/hardware firewall. If problems persist with ZA then I'll give the xp FW a shot. thanx.

all you have to do is go to ZA control panel, program control, programs, trusted zone, add the yahoo program that accesses the server, or put its server address(es) in firewall, zones, trusted
- add
host site
IP adress
IP adress range

or change firewall, trusted zone, main to medium
