Zone Alarm vs. Generic Host Process

Zone Alarm frequently asks the following question:

"Do you want to allow Generic Host Process for Win32 Services to act as a server?"

What are the risks (and gains), if any, of answering "yes" to this question? I emailed Zone Labs but their very extensive reply never answered the question, it was only a long and complex dissertation on what the Generic Host Process does.

I assume there must be some risk. I always answer "no" and nothing appears to be impaired.

More insight in to this would certainly be appreciated.

Sometimes the "NT Kernel" tries to access the internet also...this is where I get into trouble tho when I say no because it sometimes locks everything out.
