Zone Alarm Question

I just got my cable modem service (RoadRunner) and installed Zone Alarm today. Since this morning I've gotten 6 "zone alerts." I have the pop-up window turned off so it doesn't bother me, but I check ZA every now and then and there are new alerts pretty much every time. Is this normal or do I have something configured wrong?

Thanks

I used to get 30 alerts a day or more because of outside sources scanning me. Infected PCs on the network snoop around IPs looking for open ports so they can procreate.

OK. What should I have my security settings at? I currently have both the Local and Internet security settings at high. I really know nothing about this program (or others like it) so if you have it, let me know what's "best."

Also, is it possible that ZA might cause online games to lag out every now and then like when ZA gets a "hit"? OR is it possible that ZA might be blocking something that I need?

Zone Alarm will never block something you need once you give it permission to let the conncection through.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that you don't need to set local security on "high". Unless someone is trying to hack you from your own LAN 🙂

Well, surprisingly with ZA i rarely get any hits... and there's been weeks that i never received a single hit.

But yeah, BI is far worst... you'll become so paranoid if you ever used that, i know i was.
