Zone Alarm on Client Computers?

Hi there...

I'm setting up Zone Alarm firewall and I use WinProxy to share my Internet connection. Here is the thing... My dad does not want to run Zone Alarm on his computer because it is another thing that has to load on startup, so I want to run it on mine, a client on the network, so will that still give ME full protection eventhough the firewallis not running on the computer connected to the Internet?

Thanks,

It will protect you, but if the other computer gets infected with something it wont matter much. But no matter what, I would install it on your machine. Your dad is ignorant to the situation (least offencive words I could think of 😉 ). He should take out one of the other stupid things that runs on startup and make sure the IMPORTANT things are running. ie UP TO DATE anti-virus and a GOOD firewall.

All that starts is our Proxy and his AntiVirus software... haha 🙂

Oh well...

Thanks for the info.. installing on my 'puter now.

Zone Alarm rocks! I might buy it for the extra functionality...

One question... I need to disable the lite firewall that is included with WinProxy... is there any easy way to do this, or should I just start fooling with it? 🙂 I didn't see an option to just turn it off...
