just got a dell 8600 laptop (from a member here) with integrated wireless. i'm running norton antivirus software that came with it as well as the xp firewall. i installed zonealarm basic and had no issues for the first 24 hours (but did get a lot of zonealarm warnings on programs attempting to access the internet) but after that there was zero access although signal strength was strong. i tried repairing the connection as well as rebooting to no avail. i then disable zone alarm and lo and behold i had a very fast internet connection.

do you guys (and gals) have any ideas how i can get zone alarm to permit my laptop access? thanks!!

Are using a router aslo.

Cause u have running windows xp firewall, ( if u have a router, which comes with a firewall)

And if u install zonealarm firewall you have to enable it to go through the winxp firewall ( open the ports for the applications, but something it should of popped up and u should of allowed it to, becuase it detects it automattically(sometimes), same thing if u have a router u will have to apply a rule too in zonealarm to allow the router to get throw to the Pc's.

Or just uninstall zonealarm cause it will give you lots of issues, when using more than one firewall, online applications that require u to open ports.

and i have had occassions that when ppl have zonealarm installed and then they decide to uninstall it in the near future it screw up their pc's.

(I hate zonealarm... my opinion..)
