Romero films:

  • Night of the Living Dead (bw)
    Dawn of the Dead
    Day of the Dead
Night of the Living Dead (color, 1990)

New Dawn of the Dead (2000, not directed by Romero, but he was involved right?)

Return of the Living Dead (knock offs, 1 through 4 I've seen, others?)

Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Apocalypse

28 Days Later

Shaun of the Dead

Redneck Zombies (Troma)

All of the above I've seen and would recomend. (redneck zombies... for comedy)

What else is there?

"Zombie" movies usually get lumped into "Survial Horror" movies/games. So is there other survival horror films?

HUGE list here, Most I've never heard of. Recomendations?

Recommendations: (haven't seen these but should)

Versus
Chud 1 and 2
Dead Alive

There's the Lucio Fulci Zombie flicks from the 80's. PS the NotLD remake was 90's not 80's.

Evil dead 1, 2, and Army of Darkness if you haven't seen those... not sure if you'd actually consider those "zombie" though

Cabin Fever wasn't a zombie flick per se, but it was in the same vain as them.

Great campy flick.

While those are great films, there's no "shoot them in the head" feel to them. There's a survival horror aspect I guess. eh. Maybe we'll have to vote.

Versus, Evil Dead series

Versus.... This one?
Just watched that -- Evil Dead meets Highlander, was fun.

A good one, sadly not out on region 1 DVD:
Cemetery Man (Dellamorte Dellamore)

and
Brain Dead / Dead Alive ("I kick ass for the lord!")

Can't believe I left out Peter Jackson and Dellamorte (Anna Falchi's worth the price of admission).

That one looks good, is it subtitled?

Want to take a guess who directed Dead Alive? It was veeery earlu in someones career. Here's a hint; it was filmed in New Zealand.

AS far as I'm aware it's still just about the goriest movie of all time :)
