ZipZoomFly: Yay or Nay?

Im debating weather or not I should order some parts from there. There is a 15% restocking fee. Does that mean that if I return something, I gotta pay 15% of its cost? Good customer service? Or should I stick with newegg?(slightly more expensive)

You can save alot of money shopping both sites. Each has better prices on certain products. Eg.
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB Serial ATA : Zzf $112.00 with free shipping, Newegg $152.00 + $4.69 shipping. Lok it up yourself manufacturer #ST3160827AS.

I got a bad mobo from ZZF , got it RMAed , no problems..Newegg is also ok.

Id take ZZF though because while everyone else is at Newegg I can shop ZZF in peace and quiet. 🙂

I didn't vote b/c the poll choices don't include "Whoever is cheaper."

When it comes to:

Newegg
ZipZoomFly
Ajump
Monarchcomputers

And a few others I can't remember offhand, you're safe, AFA quality, service, packing go. It's about who is the cheapest, TOTAL (including shipping) for whatever it is you're buying.

I just built a dual-Xeon rig; I ordered the components from three different etailers.

the restocking fee is only payed if you jsut return it because you dont like it. if its broken then you shouldnt have to pay 🙂

and I just ordered a vid card from there. 🙂 so far no probs

i've never had any problems with zipzoomfly and have gotten better deals there from time to time. also, newegg has a restocking fee as well. i've had to pay it in the past.

Both are good, newegg has the edge for more accurate in stock / back order display and very fast shipping.

mwave.com is also good and a little cheaper than newegg, but again shipping might take an extra day or two longer.

i use newegg for almost everything, no issues

Same here. On the restocking fee... just don't buy things you don't want, it's pretty simple to do (for males, at any rate).

Everything I have ever needed to buy was at least a dollar cheaper at ZipZoomFly and they ship Second Day Air for Free.
Most stuff at NewEgg either has a shipping charge or, if free, is supersaver five day shipping or you have to pay more.

I have been with ZipZoomFly since they were GoogleGear.com

🙂

I've never tried ZZF. I've pretty much order the majority of computer products from Newegg (what a name:roll: ). It's easy to order from their website. They always ship what I ordered and never, ever told me something was back ordered after the fact when the website says it was in stock . Very quick shipping to Hawaii and prices are reasonable. Of course I could order here and there to save a few dollars. But since I've had a great experience with an outstanding outfit as Newegg (I can't get over that name:laugh: ) I just hate to experience anything less. Mi dos centavos.

Have fun shopping around.

New Egg has been great to me. They have delayed orders a day or two and then overnighted the items to me at no cost, plus they refunded the original shipping charges. That is supreme customer service. I have used ZZF and like them, but only if there is a considerable price difference. Both charge a 15% restocking fee.
Be careful of Mwave. They will not let you return or refund processors, even retail boxed, and a few other items for any reason. Returns to the manufacturer only.

I've ordered from ZZF many times, back when they were called GoogleGear as well. All experiences with them have been good.

I ordered a motherboard from ZZF and it didn't work (either an BIOS didn't like my 90nm CPU or the motherboard was defective). I sent it Monday morning and it arrived there very early Wednesday. So far they haven't sent anything back yet, but I have no idea how busy they are with RMAs.

GG/ZZF has been good to me for years. If price is the same, I'll go with them, but I'll pretty much go with whoever is cheapest. Combining the two saves a good chunk of money. Don't think I've ever built from just one site. I always at least combine those two if not more.

I have had just as good service from ZipZoomFly as I have had from Newegg. I choose between them and Monarchcomputer whenever I am building a new rig. Whichever is cheaper.

GG?

Anyway I think this post would be more fair if the poll was "o - Yay, o - Nay" instead of "o - Newegg, o - ZZF." ZZF is good but usually overpowered by Newegg.

I order my CPU/mobos from Monarch cuz they install it for you, install the latest bios, and give you a free game 🙂
