zipzoomfly: misleading? you make the call

I had ordered a FX-55 chip on monday (9am PST their time) and they promised that it would go out tuesday since it would be technically their "2nd business day" so with that in mind I went ahead and got overnight shipping. Now it's the 3rd business day, the buyer of my old CPU has to wait, and on top of that the FX-55 is still in their warehouse.

I just called them and asked why it hasn't shipped yet. Apparently they do not even have this CPU in stock, I called monday morning to confirm they had this in stock and they said they did (so this is why I did not go with newegg). Now they say it's "packed" but yet they do not have it in stock! Shady and misleading company by far. This was my first order and my last.

Simply put, I should've went to newegg.com.

interestingly enough, monarchcomputers came through. They verified they had FX-55s in stock and the guy over the phone said he would do his best to expedite the order so it could be shipped today.

Monarch computer waited 7 days to ship something because of a problem with the shipping address and never said a word to me, but decided to charge me for it (it wasn't just a hold because it cleared my account). They finally sent the board out 2 days after the situation was resolved. Needless to say I was very unhappy with the service.

I was just about to post the same thread. I placed an order on Saturday the status said "packed" since monday and they didn't ship the item until thursday!!

Zipzoomfly can take their 2nd day shipping and pound it.

First and last order they'll get from me.

Don't advertise 2nd day shipping then wait 4 days to send something out, that defeats the purpose and it's just bad business.

why "interestingly enough"?? monarch computers was around before newegg and they have always been pretty good.

lately their prices have been rock bottom.

I just sent the following message to zipzoomfly as well as posted comments on resellerratings.com

I placed my first order with zipzoomfly and I have to say that I am less than impressed. You advertise left and right about free 2nd day shipping, but my order sat with a status of "packed" for 4 days before it was actually shipped out. This completely defeats the purpose of 2nd day shipping and it is just poor business if you ask me. As you requested I do in your last email I posted these same comments on resellerratings.com. After reading some other user comments on that and other sites it appears that this is not an isolated occurrence either.

This will be my first and last order from your company

zzf sucks... i had the worst experiance with them over the summer... they had a part i wanted which newegg did not have in stock... it was a mistake... i should have waited for newegg...

monarch is pretty cool i got my 6800 ultra from them back in July

Here's a similar experience in GH thread.

teramesher calls it "cheating" him, which I disagreed with, but it does seem clear that you can't really trust the inventory "in stock" status at ZZF, or that they will ship promptly.

I don't know about shady. Unfortunate at best. I mean not all companies are perfect. Just ask for your money back and do your business elsewhere.

In my case Newegg had everything I wanted except this one part (of course it had to be my processor so I can't finish my PC this weekend)

2nd day shipping is only the type of shipping service they use. If you had used ground and it took 4 days to ship out it would have taken even longer.

2nd day shipping does not mean that they will ship out your product within 2 days.

I've used them a couple times and am okay with them. The last few things I have ordered from Newegg have taken two days to get shipped and one of the things from zzf took three days to ship and with 2 day shipping so they were pretty much even. I just ordered a new hardrive from zzf on Tues this week and it showed up on Thurs which was nice.

Actually, I would be a bit bothered, but not enough to write them a letter because I understand that overnight shipping only applies to AFTER it leaves their hands.
