I was given mis-information by the company, they refused to make good on what they said. They then promptly updated the product with the lower specification.
=======================
This is the current one which was updated 2 hours after I called complaining:
Linky
# NVIDIA® GeForce? 6600
# 300 MHz Engine Clock
# 400 MHz Memory Clock <-- This was changed today also.
# 128MB DDR SDRAM
# 64-bit memory interface <-- This is what I called and asked about.
# DVI-I + HDTV & TV-out
========================
This is what it was like 10 days ago when I was looking at it. Notice that that memory interface isn't listed and the clock rating is different? (Google Cache May Change)
Google Cache
# NVIDIA® GeForce? 6600
# 300 MHz Engine Clock
# 550/500/400 MHz Memory Clock <---- Vs 400 MHz
# 128MB DDR SDRAM
<--- No memory interface spec
# DVI-I + HDTV & TV-out
========================
I was checking out the video card on their site and the memory interface wasn't listed. On chaintech's web-site it's listed as 64/128 so I decided to give zipzoomfly a call. They said it was 128. If you're into video cards at all, the 64bit card is basically crippled, but since this was the 128, I went ahead and bought it.
I just got it today and was reading the box and it said 64bit, so I did some more digging and found that this particular part number, ect, was, indeed, the 64bit memory interface.
I called them today and kindly requested that they exchange it, or refund me with the restocking fee, since I wouldn't have purchased the 64bit card to begin with. They said that they would refund it, but with a 15% restocking fee (per their site), which is BS since they gave me mis-information.
I guess when you buy from zipzoomfly, specifications are subject to change and you may end up getting less than you bargained for!
Any suggestions or should I just send it back and eat the $20 + S&H?
