late last year i ordered a new rig. its in my sig!
however, the first mobo was an asus p5n-e sli. i ordered almost everything from zipzoom, over a grand. which is not much for them, but a decent order.
my p5n gave me issues. i knew it said exchange for same item only, but i wanted to go to an intel chipset so i figured id call just to ask about getting an asus p5b-d instead. the cs rep not only said that would be ok, but that if i ordered a mobo the same or greater in price they would waive the restocking fee. i repeated this because i was impressed with that service.
i was told call back with your new order number so they can waive the fee.
so i order an asus p5b, i call back with order number, get a different rep (guy not girl) and i confirm that this is so the restock fee could be waived. he said yes and was very cheerful about it.
i get the credit 10 days later, minus 12 bucks for cables & Q-connect i forgot to return, which they emailed me about and i accpeted the 12 dollar reduction instead of shipping them back. but they also took out a 15% restocking fee.
i emailed them 5 days ago. and again today. i get an email back finally saying that their restocking fee is 25%! and that all i was told is that they would reduce it to 15%.
what a pack of horseshit.
if you goto their website return faq, http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Service/Return.jsp
there is no 25% number for restocking for anything.
/end rant
in the end i also had to return the p5b-d which had one of the common issues of not booting up after a short time. that was charged the correct 15% restocking fee - which, according to this cs rep, should be %25, since i called nobody to reduce it. now i have the dq6 and am perfectly content with it.
basically, zip zoom is straight up lying.
