What's the deal with these guys? Based on Resellerratings.com, I figured they'd be comparable to Newegg in terms of service. I've ALWAYS bought through Newegg and Newegg only. And I've NEVER placed an order with Newegg in the evening, that didn't ship out the following day. ZipZoomFly just happened to have a good price with free 2nd Day shipping on something I was shopping for, so I strayed from Newegg for once. Placed my order Sunday afernoon and the status JUST went to "Packed" late Tuesday afternoon but won't ship today. The main reason I went with them was because this particular item came with free 2nd Day shipping. The whole point was to order on Sunday night so I'd have it on Wednesday. Why in the hell even offer free 2nd Day shipping when you're not going to ship out the item until several days after the order is placed?? Defeats the whole purpose IMO.

Anyone done business with them and not had their item shipped until several days after placing the order? Should have gone with Newegg. Would have paid more but FedEx would be delivering my package tomorrow. Now I'll be lucky to have it in time for the weekend.

Okay...that's my quick rant. I feel better.😛

Totally understand that. Like I said, I'm just spoiled with Newegg and how they ship out the day after you order and often the same day if you place your order early enough. Just not used to having a purchase go through "processing" for so long with a company that has super high reseller ratings.

I'm not coming down on ZZF as much as I'm just coming down on myself for straying away from a trusted and familiar distributor. Though, I'm still surprised that it hasn't shipped yet considering it was ordered/paid for on Sunday afternoon. I just get really impatient when I order something new for my computer.😀
 
I have had a pretty good experience with them. Unless I expidite and order I pretty much allow 2 buisness days to process and ship tops. More than that is probally unreasonable unless its off Ebay or what not.
 
I picked up a CF card from ZZF at the beginning of the month, and it did take a day or so longer than Newegg or anywhere, but I didn't need it right away and it was a heck of a deal, so it didn't bother me too much.

I have always ordered from ZZF and never had a problem with them. In fact, they are all I pretty much use when I buy components.
 
nothing but good things to say here about zipzoomfly. they are THE online merchant for hawaii/alaska customers. I've done two RMA's with them, and no problems. Nothing like Newegg's service (i RMA'd an oem generic radeon 9800 to newegg, and they sent me back a built by ati radeon 9800 pro 😉) , but defintely 9/10.
 
Maybe the delay is due to the fact that many other orders come in on the weekend and it takes a while to catch up at the beginning of the week? You ordered Sunday night, so your order would have been after all the orders from late Friday, all Saturday, and most of Sunday. I remember when NewEgg took a couple of days to ship back a few years.

I'd hate to see what you'd have to say about Amazon's free Super Saver shipping. There's always like a week delay between the time you order and the time they ship with it.
