oopsie...youre supposed to soak the cotton with the lighter fluid, not take it out. The wick takes the fluid from the cotton

If you couldnt figure out how to refill a lighter, maybe you shouldnt have the capacity to make fire.

Anyway, its easy, you pull the actual lighter out of the casing, lift up the stiff fiber pad, and while holding the lighter upside down, squirt fluid onto the cotton inside. Cotton soaks up the fluid only up to a certain point, but dont worry, if you overfill it, you'll know about it pretty fast.

$20 isn't really that much when you think about how long a Zippo will last you. Mine was made in 1968.

Compare to Colibri which starts at around $80 and they aren't even windproof! $20 aint a whole heck of a lot.

I have a crapload of brand new Zippos from the 80s. My dad use to sell them to the sailors that would come in at Long Beach for 50%-80% over retail. He gave me all the ones he didn't sell:beer::D

Yep. Damn nice lighters for the price. I've got one that's used quite a bit and have had it for years and it's still practically brand new. My other one is a Winston cigarettes 40th anniversary collectors edition Zippo. Never been used, and no I don't smoke.

I've got a bunch of Zippos, and some of the Collector ones in tins. Also have a nice COlibri lighter as well.
Between the Colibri's and Zippo's, I carry a Zippo.
Zippo = The best lighter money can buy.

Thing is you can really taste the naptha in the liquid lighter fuel, while butane doesn't come through in the taste of the smoke.
The downside with the Colibri piezo-electric strike is that it is too easy for the filament to become displaced or dirty - they don't travel well.
I take the zippo when I'm on the go.
I keep the Colibri sitting on my desk, which is where I smoke the most anyway.
