Zippo Lighters make my cigs taste nasty...

Thats weird. It doesnt happen with any other lighters, but I've been forced to Tyler Durden my cigs (light them off the burner of my stove).

Just the other night, I was at a bus stop, it was raining moderately heavy and was breezy. At the covered bus stop, there were two people smoking like chimneys, forcing me to make a decision. Either stay out in the cold rain (there was no cover nearby) or be subjected to their horrible smoke. I chose to stay in the rain, and neither of them even cared to put them out.

WTFCWYT, start another thread about it if you don't like smokers, that's your hangup, but don't crap on this guys thread. You non-smokers act like you own the god damned world. How about moving away from the person smoking, or get this, don't stand/sit next to him in the first place, especially if it's outside. Get over yourself!! BTW, there is no conclusive evidence(PROOF) that second hand smoke is any more dangerous than the smog filled air you breathe when you go outside.

I am a two pack a day smoker and don't care to quit. If it kills me, oh well, but I can tell you this, I am very carefull not to infringe on other people's rights as far as smoking next to them or in a small room with them, but if I am smoking and they sidel on up next to me specifically to complain to me and tell me about the ramifications to their and my health, they will get a lung full of Kool Smoke.

To the original smoking poster, I also get that nasty taste with zippos, which is why I have a drawer full of them and never use them.

I'm a former pack a day smoker for 10 years. Some non-smokers do have a holier than thou attitude with smokers, and it still pisses me off to see. Whatever, I don't smoke anymore but you will not see me bitching about smokers. Anyway, yeah, Zippos kill the first 3 puffs of a cigarette.

I assume the OP knows it's from the lighter fluid. I quit smoking 2 years ago this week after smoking for 10 years.

I always liked the smell of a Zippo lit cigarette at the very beginning. I still have my old Zippo that my Dad carried with him through three tours of Vietnam. That lighter was on him when he killed people.

It isnt just annoying while you are smoking. Smokers always carry a horrible odor around them. For example, I would never want to sit on an airplane next to a smoker. Yeck.

I can't really tell the difference between a zippo and a normal lighter when lighting a cigarette. Don't puff on the cigarette when you're lighting it with a zippo, keep it in the flame for as short a duration as possible.
