I am not usually one to complain on a public forum, but ZZF is now on my list of companies that I will think twice about ordering from in the future. Here's a breakdown of the problem.

[*]I placed an order on Thurs. the 22nd for an EVGA 6800GT and it was in stock at the time. My shipping address is on file with my CC.
[*]My order was stuck in processing until yesterday, and now it's stuck in "packing".
[*]ZZF does not have a toll free number to call.
[*]I call the long distance number a few minutes ago (9:30am in CA) and I get the dreaded recording that everyone is busy and to please leave a message.

I read a post from a forum member the other day, and he also ordered the same card an hour after I did. His order shipped on Friday. I would have been better off ordering direct from EVGA at the time. No wonder I stick w/ Newegg for 99% or my online orders.

Even the good companies don't always seem regular.
My favorites are ZipZoomFly(even when they were Googlegear), Newegg, CompuPlus and Tiger Direct. I usually bounce around to whatever is cheaper.
They have all ticked me off at least once, but overall they seem better than the hoards of other goofballs advertising on Pricewatch and Pricegrabber.

I will never order from them also, 1, because they ship UPS. 2, because they tried to charge me $117(USD) for shipping. and 3, they never responded to my phone calls.

kiss my a$$ ZipZoomFly!

I had a hellish experience from them as well. I will never buy from ZipZoomFly again either. They shouldn't even bother to list a phone number b/c they never respond via phone call. I have never had a bad experience with NewEgg.

I just spoke to a CSR @ ZZF. He states the card is now backordered even though my order says "packed". They expect delivery on the 30th but that is just plain unacceptable. I informed him that the card was in stock when I placed the order, and other people that placed their order after mine have already received their cards. He had very little to say, so I told him to cancel my order.

Are you absolutely postive that your card was in stock when you ordered it? Anyway, I've never had any problems from ZZF or Newegg.

I guess I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of stuff from ZZF - formerly GoogleGear, and have never had a problem. Just last week I got a $200 laptop drive (60 GB, 7200 RPM) and it was delivered on time with free shipping.

They have had free shipping on most things I have bought for the past few years.

Maybe a lot depends on where you are - but for me, UPS is terrific, and so is FedEx. I am expecting a shipment today from Tiger Direct, and tomorrow from Compuplus.

As for RMA's - I have had only one in the past 6 years or so, and that was to Multiwave.

No problems with NewEgg either - except they often do not have what I want in stock.

That doesnt seem horrible. You ordered a very scarce part and they ran out of stock. Sure it sucks to not get to talk to anyone yet... but its not like they totally screwed you or sent you a broken part.

Yes, as I stated earlier I know a few people that placed their order after I did and their card shipped out the next day. There was no excuse for my order to be held up in processing for 4 days, and the ZZF guy agreed that it was their fault.

Please see my response above.....

Ok I have to ask, you don't have to answer though. What was the item they tried to charge you $117.00 on? Out of the few people I know who have purchased items from Tiger Direct, none of them were really happy with their experience.

Sucks, ZZF sent my 6800GT out the same day arond with $450 of other stuff. Free 2 day UPS is better than free 3 day FedEx, also NewEgg charges me tax.

I have never had a problem with my orders from Googlegear, but since the name switch my account info is no longer excepted and I've never gotten a response to several e-mail inquiries on the matter either. I tried to make a new account but it says it already exists, then why the hell can't I order???

Not very inspiring is it? There are far too many good vendors now for me to waste effort on one who doesn't evidently appreciate my substantial patronage.

Outpost blows anyway. I had to actually get on a conference call with them and my credit card company to get a hold taken off my card for an order I had canceled a week ago. Outpost kept telling me they had removed the hold, while in fact they had not.

I will NEVER order from outpost again.

This is my first ZZF order. We will see if it will be my last :)

I just placed two small orders with them, both got here with no trouble. And both orders were cheaper than newegg. One thing I noticed on newegg is that their shipping on some parts are crazy. 3 little fans cost like 15 dollars to ship, wft is up with that.
