Zip questions..

I have a zip100 that seems to work just fine.

Today when copying many files from one zip100 drive to another zip100 drive it's clicking now and again.

Is that a bad disk or the drive is going bad?

Is this that "click of death"?

It may just be the drive having problems with the disk. I'd make a backup quick. I find with very old discs this does happen. These are essentially floppies remember, and the discs don't last as long as hard drive.

I tend to replace my disks every few years. (Both floppy or zip.)

Wasn't the click of death a repeated clicking? not just something that was occasional. at any rate, I'd just buy a cheap cdrw drive.

The Zip is being used on an old sampler (musical instrument), so not many choices, and CDRW is not possible.

Has to be SCSI, so ZIP100's have been good so far.
