Soon after George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin more than two years ago, George's loyal family learned that sharing his name meant sharing the blame. It also meant a surreal new life filled with constant paranoia, get- rich-quick schemes, and lots and lots of guns. Amanda Robb meets the Zimmerman family and finds out what it's like being related to the most hated free man in America

Haven't read it yet, but for those interested.

Until his little brother, George, shot and killed an unarmed black teenager on the sidewalk (who was giving his Zimmerman's head 6'2" of cultural enrichment against said sidewalk) of a Florida gated community more than two years ago, Robert Zimmerman Jr.

Shit article, shit poster; didn't read. Hope Amanda Robb is good at polishing knobs because she sure as fuck can't write.

Emperus is Zimmerman's biggest fan, googling on a daily basis what he's been up too.

'Guns will get you into more trouble than they will ever get you out of.'

From George's Father, he always told this to his children...

Actually it's not a bad article, his brother got to bang one of the Fox bimbos !

Good lord what a mess of a family.

Classy that they ran up a huge hotel tab on CNN's dime. Hard to feel bad for a family who's biggest source of their troubles is their own stupidity.

GJ on nailing the fox bimbo tho. Pretty much what I would expect from them. Wonder if Hannity was whacking it in the corner, or did he step up and give the full reach around?

Still clinging to the 6'2"
Trayvon was 5'11" according to the coroner.

I'm not clinging to shit, dumbass. I did 2 seconds of google to lookup his height to counter the claim that he was some 5'2" 14 year old the media portrayed him as, and spend 10 seconds of my time crafting this reply because which is still more than this thread is worth. Hopefully zimmerman can get some AA position; he should be a shoe in being the only one in the newly created racial category "white-hispanic".

He isn't the most hated free man in America. Well, outside of liberal echo chambers anyway.

Just let it go, liberals. You lost the case. No matter how much dirt you dig up on the man that's not going to change, and you'll never get to say "told you so", because you'll never prove he murdered Trayvon (which was what the court case was about, unless you were a liberal). So just let it go, your blood pressure will thank you.

Ah, so only liberals think that GZ got away with 2nd degree murder.

Fascinating! Do tell us more.

Idk, from the sound of it he may have been happier in jail. At least he wouldn't have been the burden on his family he is now. Too bad he didn't listen to his father.

Maybe not "only", but I'm pretty sure the bulk of people who believe so lean to the left. Given the sheer quantity of race cards being thrown around and clear bias in the media (culminating in NBC's doctored 911 transcript), I don't think it's a stretch to say so. It was also liberal activists who pushed the DA into prosecuting a case where there wasn't enough evidence to convict; because if he had let the case drop all hell would have broken loose in terms of the bullshit that would have been spouted.

There was nothing even remotely shady about the trial itself. What evidence there was was clear, and the system worked. Deal with it, or by all means continue fuming and wasting your energy.

For my part I haven't given Zimmerman a 2nd thought since the trial, except when angry liberals have dredged up some stupid thing he did or some bad situation he was involved in; and talked about it like it matters. It's pitiful validation seeking, nothing more.

If he'd listened to his father and gone into that same situation he'd probably be dead and gotten no more recognition than a local news blurb.

Please read before you link a source of mostly fiction. It may help you from posting drek.

I guess since it's not on Fox News it doesn't count and makes it fiction.

It actually was a fairly interesting article giving color to the Zimmerman Family. I especially liked the account of CNN putting them up in a Hotel and the "Zimmermans" having dinner for 10, buying Mercedes cologne, and running up a tab of 3,000... Yeah, he's such a poster-boy.

Article seemed rather 'meh' to me.

Not much of interest and very little info about the Zimmerman family other than Robert.

Nice post. After reading your posting history here you seem like a rather calm, cool, individual.

Doubtful. Even if we take for granted that the gun didn't give him extra boldness and courage to go follow suspicious individuals at night, it's entirely plausible that it would have just ended in an ass whooping.

There are countless fist fights a day and very few end in death. Usually someone goes down, is totally defeated, then it's over.

But a gun is brought in, fights turn lethal, someone ends up dead and the other in massive legal trouble and debt. Again, guns usually create more problems than they solve. Lesson well learned.

This kind of sensationalism needs to stop. This is why people don't take the media seriously.
