I think Zim is the bee knees, the cat's meow and all that... but Elite should be reserved for ONLY those who contribute to the forums, excluding OT. I would definately vote for Zim to get a custom title though!!

For those that don't know, Zim is also an active TeAmmate in DC and has been for some time. He is active in the DC forums and helps there. I think Zim definitely deserves elite

I have to agree with you to some degree. Then again, Zim is funny and nice, but i don't know about elite member. Still, he is worthy of something other than lifer.

Not sure if you avoid OT, which is fine, but there are valid questions posted on a daily basis. Valid does not mean "which chick should I date?" etc etc. I agree, most of it(90%+) is just pure entertainment/crap, but stop discrediting people for only posting in OT.

Why shouldn't I? I know there are valid questions posted in OT on a daily basis, but that doesn't count as a contribution to the forum. Like I said, there are far more people who deserve this elite title, due to their contributions in the other parts of the forum.

Hardly. OT hardly has any contributions. The other parts of the forums, excluding P&N, are full of them. And there are lots who contribute in those forums who should get the elite title long before anyone who only posts in OT.

/me thinks your forgetting one of the largest contributions to the forums and to Anandtech.com and that is the monetary contributions. P&N, whos gibberish is proportionate to that of OTs, along with OT brings massive page hits and ad revenue. I don't have any idea of the numbers, but im positive those 2 forums surpase all the other forums combined numbers many times over.

Even if you throw that out. Almost every digital camera thread every created starts in OT, many of which I contribute to myself. Anandtech.com reviews cameras, so Im not quite sure how that isn't contributing. An uncountable amount of posts pertaining to computer hardware and software are always posted in OT. Aside from the rants from Nik the questions are usually answered. The same could be said about financial issues, and advise on a number of other topics.

The huge difference is that in the rest of the forums, almost 100% of the threads contribute. Where in OT, contributions to the forum are the minority.

I was talking about elite because the original name of this thread was Zim Hosein for elite.
