Goose Stepping will be the next fashion for the police in D.C.

WTF is this shit? So basically, they will ask people if they can search the home, if the person refuses can they use the lame, "well I suspect something illegal is going on here so I'll search anyways." Kinda like they do if you don't give permission to search your car.

And anything else illegal in plain sight or that gives rise to probable cause will be ignored by the cops eh? Hysterical.

Well its good that the cops have eliminated all the other crime in DC so they can spend their time doing this.

They are NOT searching if you don't give them permission to do so. I don't see anything wrong with this.

Wow, if guns are found under the voluntary search they grant amnesty for it and any crimes done with it... So kill some people you don't like and leave the gun on your kitchen counter when the cops come around?

"A police spokeswoman said that if evidence of other crimes is found during voluntary searches, amnesty will be granted for that crime as well.

"Chief Lanier has been clear," Traci Hughes said. "Amnesty means amnesty." "

This is simple intimidation. Cops know that most people will let them do anything they say. Will a cop walk up to a house and say, "May we please look around for guns?" Obviously not. The recent thread about the DHS checkpoint shows tactics employed by cops to coerce people into ceding their rights without even informing them of what their rights are. It is therefore more likely that the cops would bang on your door and say, "We have reason to believe that there are firearms inside this house. We need to come inside and have a look around."

They're trying to convince people that the cops are their friends. Then, after people are used to routine home searches by police, they will simply rescind this policy.

Great, now the residents know to never answer the door when a cop is there. He may want to search their home, may want to know if they have seen a shooting in front of the house, but in any case, don't help them out, they're not there to help you.

I have no guns and nothing illegal in my house but I would tell them no, they are not going to search mine. I would not feel happy as a person to have strangers searching around my house like a common juvenile who's room is being searched by dad for more marijuana. F**k this, are we in America or Leningrad?

Why are they doing it, then? If people have guns, they'll not let the cops in, right? And if they don't have guns, what are the cops going to find? Tell me, please, why they're doing this?

Hot damn!! Anybody who wants to off their spouse better move to DC. When the cops come a knockin you can knife her. When they find her, you get amnesty for it!

Only a jackass would ask them for a warrant. Only someone with something to hide would refuse. Only a jerk would assert their constitutional rights. :)

But the people are not forced to allow the police to search their homes, and that's the key here.

If people want to forgo their rights and allow the search, then they deserve to lose them.

I think you're missing it entirely. The police should not be putting people in a position to forego their rights. Once this becomes the job of the police officer, then everyone has lost.

I see what you are saying, and my disagreement with you is not so concrete. But the American people are going to have to start doing a better job of standing up for their rights. If someone is so scared that they can't open their door, ask for a warrant, then refuse the search, then this country is doomed. Often the fear of death leads to a fear of life.

As I said in a recent topic, it?ll take a police state to enforce the banning of guns.

Are we all happy now?

This simply is outrageous. First you want to "ban guns" which is directly against the 2nd Amendment and then want to follow up their fascist actions with desecrating the 4th Amendment. Yes its "legal" when the Citizen allows the police officer to search their homes but I am willing to bet, under no other circumstance, would they allow it. Do you see people lining up at the Police Station asking to have their houses searched? When will people wake the fuck up? People aren't mad enough yet to say anything. "Keep us safe at any cost" is the mentality of Americans today which is a disgrace to the bloodshed by those that fought for those Rights. All people want these days is their cup of coffee and cell phones, everything else is secondary. Keeping the people complacent to their Rights by way of intimidation and coddling their desire for comfort.

What I see happening is they are using D.C. as a testing ground. Do not think in a few years you won't see a report stating how crime is so much lower, murders are lower and overall violent crimes are down. It is an attempt (IMO) to show ground for removal of the 2nd Amendment.

I agree. And it makes me want to go out and buy a gun or ten.

That's how it's spelled in the NWO. Because if we miss spell it, no one will make the connection to the past.
