what an act on his part.

He practically fvked his country over and they never knew until much later since the monitors in the stadium were malfunctioning...

I really don't know what else to say to describe what he did except to say that he ruined his legacy right then and there....


I really need to post an HD clip of him walking out of the stadium with the trophy on his right

it wasn't I think.....I saw that they were workign at the end but never saw them show it....

It was shown on the stadium monitors.

For the ref to issue a Red Card, one of them must have seen it. If they didn't no penalty or card can be issued. The fact that it was shown on the monitors allows one of the refs to save face for missing the call and say they saw it when they actually didn't.

We had a lot of spanish-only speaking people in the house so we were cosntantly swtiching between Univision and ABC-HD 😱

WE probably missed it being shown on the monitors (you can only see the monitors on the HD broadcast)

even if he had lost, he would have been a national hero ( iguess he already was) and would have been in history as the man who scored their goal and kept them alive until the penalties....

If he had been their for penallties, thigns would have been so much cooler....


Idiot....he ruined his entire life with that stunt.....his career was already over...now no one will want anythig nto do with him.

Heh. I've never watched any soccer, doubt I ever will, but I was just browsing around YTMND and saw this thread. I assume This is what you're talking about.

the thing is, I felt bad for france...he was their captain, they were on their way....they depended on him....

This is akin to blaming that Chicago Cubs fan (I forget his name... Bartman?) for costing them a shot at winning the world series. Let's not forget that in the game the Cubs screwed up at shortstop if I remember correctly and in this soccer game they have a guy who can't kick a ball into the ocean.

a lot of it was that the italian guy wasnt expecting it. had he known it was coming, he could have moved out of the way or at least readied himself to receive the blow. you can tell by how fluid his body collapses.
