I use this cooler. It's not the best-performing 120mm heatpipe cooler, but it performs within a couple degrees of much more expensive options. And it doesn't use push pins for retention. Also, the copper base plate is very flat and smooth, so it doesn't require lapping.

I say hot deal, regardless of shipping cost.

I got paid for my NV120 rebate awhile back. If anyone is interested, the rebate also applies to some vga coolers, including Hurricane HC92-8800, which ZZF is selling for $47 - $40 rebate (free shipping till 11/7). NE has it for the same price, but shipping is not free. By the way, don't think about buying one cooler from NE and another from ZZF, because even though the vendor listed on each rebate form is different, the rebate number is the same--so you're limited to one rebate only.

Reviews show that Zen FZ120 is only a few degrees behind the much more expensive NV120, with the added advantage of a 4-pin fan connector (so you can modulate the speed on Intel MB's via PWM, without using the clunky fan controller). NV120 has 3-pin connector, so on Intel MB's you have to use the fan controller or find a MB that can modulate it like AMD MB's (some Abit MB's can, but most other brands can't).

Deal shouldn't be declared dead until the rebate period is over. The product is currently OOS, but unless someone knows that it won't be restocked before the 30th, it shouldn't be declared dead...

if above product is not available for purchase, deal is dead. newegg does not list on eta when item will be restocked.

Thanks Engineer, I originally decided to pass since the heatsink was probably too tall for my side panel fan to fit, but at $9AR I'll make do without it.

deals undead, kind of atleast at $13.99...What are the chances it'll be knocked back down to 5 bucks with free shipping? right now its basically the original cost of 5 bucks plus shipping.

for any one that already has the fz120 Is this cooler worth the extra coinage? How effective is it? does it need to be lapped? my regards Homeslice

Am I reading these rebates correctly that the one at ZZF is different than the one at newegg/chief value? That would indicate that you could get one at each store, right? The mail-to departments are different, and I don't see any offer numbers to contradict the offer.

Of course, I also don't need to OC my graphics card either 🙂

Thanks for the heads up, I couldn't get to the rebate-zone website a few days ago, so I was a little worried that they'd gone under too, I have a pending OCZ rebate with them. But their website is working as of this morning, so I guess it was just temporarily down. What happens when a rebate house files for bankruptcy, is there some sort of clause stating that they aren't liable to pay out any submissions in such circumstances?
