his greatest point is: stop trying to reproduce Halo! dammit I'm sick of that game as it is. He was right in that its mediocre. It was a decent game with the right presentation and 'fun'/easily accessible multiplayer. Why do all developers strive for this? Sure it sells, but dammit... that's what wrong with the creative industries these days... sell sell sell, and no creativity. The FPS games that are different from Halo are the ones that ultimately interest me. :)

Of course the guy is funny, but I tend to disagree with him. I enjoyed all three Halos, thought the controls and music were good and the enemy AI wasn't too bad. It is a game to strive for and thats why it sells. Also health meters are not always so good. Nothing stinks more than having crossed a save point when you just got beatup and only have 10% health left. This means you can get killed over and over again until you find some health or you have to start the level over.

He's more of a PC gamer, so he is not surprisingly biased against console games.

He was pretty much dead on.
If we all loved HALO so much we would just keep replaying it.
Titles that are exactly like HALO but not actually HALO wont amount to much.

And therefore, that is what's called difficulty.

If you are in that situation, you have to restart the level and not suck.

Not sure what he was talking about with the aiming. I never had any issue with my character turning 90 degrees when barely moving the analog stick. That was a pretty dumb point considering virtually every shooter has adjustable sensitivity. But that said, Turok blows. I got it in from Gamefly, played an hour or so, and then packed it up and sent it back.

Yahtzee is hardcore PC FPS, I see what he means but its all in how many of these console FPS's you play before you get the aiming down pat.

Well, yeah, I understand that using a mouse is much easier. I guess I've just been playing both for so long I can switch between KB/M and dual analog with no trouble. He must not be very experienced with dual analog set-ups. You have to have pretty fine control over your thumbs you will indeed wind up swining wildly around. I usually have to bump up the sensitivity on console FPS games so I can turn faster... but I still dont have any issue like he described where a slight bump results in the character turning 90 degrees. He clearly doesn't understand what a slight bump actually is in analog stick terms.
