Half the fun of the game is the random moments of getting @$$ rapped without lube.

Such as having a tank spawn even before you exit the safe room, then 3 more before the end of the level.

Or everyone getting bombed by a boomer + a regular swarm + 2 hunters + a tank + a witch. If you survive the usual reaction is "WOOOO, WE ROCK, we are so screwed BUT WE ROCK!". There isn't enough random horrible rape IMHO.

I agree, the heart of the game is intense situations where you're fighting for your life.

It's definitely not worth $50, I still don't understand why we were charged this much. It's a multiplayer-only game with only 4 maps. So it's basically TFC, which was part of the Orange Box and came with a few other games.

I love playing this game, it's perfect for filling in those awkward time slots in the day. A spare 30 minutes isn't enough for most games but you can load up L4D and blast away and then log out without losing anything!

It's a very addicting game mainly due to the A.I Director, making things very unpredictable each time you play, but the lack of content variety is enough for me to think that it ain't worth more than $20, or $30 at worst, certainly not $50. I received it as a Gift, but otherwise I wouldn't have bought it until its price would have been reduced considerably OR unless they (Valve) suddenly decided to release more content for it (campaigns, new unique Infected, new weapons, etc).

And I don't know if everyone else are experiencing the same, but most servers lag a LOT, especially last night, it was pure madness, better having a super fast connection and a powerful computer and set the server to Local instead.

That's my biggest complaint. Too much lag which means it probably chooses servers for you that are far from your location. It is very fun though but not $50 fun. Not enough content.

I still don't understand why they charge $50 for a game like HL2, Crysis, Far-Cry 2, etc, when I'll spend maybe 20 hours tops playing them...and I've already gotten far more than that out of L4D...that's about a weekly average...

I really think our perception has been warped - games like L4D and TF2 and CS:S are worth $50 because of replay value...its the short single player campaigns we should be outraged with as far as pricing goes.

Well our value sense has been skewed by the Orange Box... I paid $50 for L4D and have probably been playing it 50 hours so far at least... So decent value for me there.

His reviewed sounded as if he attacked the game without attacking it. He didn't put out his opinion on it really, since he said it mattered how people felt about it.

His last couple of Reviews have been dull. Almost like he's on Auto-Pilot and lacking much interest.

after playing the heck out of the game, it's too predictable for me. even with the AI director you get to know where all the hordes can be triggered.

i did find a new way to enjoy the game in coop. i play as the mole and try to screw with the other 3 players unknowingly. like activating hordes when nobody's ready, killing a boomer so it explodes on my them, and just playing like a noob and making it harder for everyone.

Yea the game has gotten boring for me too. Not enough variety with with the AI Director cus it's not like he changes the whole game, only aspects of it. We really need some new maps/weapons.

Yea I read that before and it looks awesome. That's been the great thing about Source games is the large MOD community but that still doesn't fix the lack of content now.
