Zen V Plus API

Anyone know of an API for transferring files and playlists to the Zen V Plus? The software that came with mine stopped working (Creative is so terrible at software) and I'd like to write my own.

I used to be able to essentially drag and drop, but now if I open the "Media Explorer" it completely crashes explorer. Microsoft and Creative--two giants of writing terribly buggy software.
