Zen Touch not recognized

The zen touch worked flawlessly on my old computer. Got a new desktop with XP Pro SP2, and I can't get it to recognize the zen. It doesn't see it in "my computer" either. The computer transiently found new hardware, but it didn't recognize it in the software, so I tried disconnecting/reconnecting, tried it both in a powered hub and through a direct connect to the machine to an in-front USB port. The desktop is a Dell 9100, if that matters any. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

yes- thanks- it turns out the Zen is very finicky, and doesn't like hubs, and doesn't like even the front ports of the computer. It only likes a direct connection to the rear ports. Tempermental..

Odd -- so it works fine thru the rear USB ports? That really sounds like a power issue, and usually using a powered hub takes care of it.

Evidentally others have experienced the same issue with the Zen and sometimes Ipods liking the card ports. It is a Belkin powered hub, so I don't think that's the issue. It wouldn't even work in the front USB ports on the computer itself. Others have even posted for the Zen that it didn't like certain USB cards- very strange ...
