got my 2nd one in today.. it was new in box just like the first. I put it on ebay and made a $35 profit!

EDIT: Looks like I waited too long... it seems to be OOS now.

Does this work in Vista w/o having to install any additional (Creative) software?

Thanks,
-Brett.

I have a dual boot system with Win XP SP2 (with Media Player 11) and Vista Business. I was able to connect it in Vista without having to install anything.

However I did have problems in XP. The Device Manager kept trying to find drivers to install for it, and couldn't. I was wondering if this was a problem with having Media Player 11 (it comes with MP10). The website says XP shouldn't require any drivers. I ended up manually telling it to install drivers for a Portable Device, and then it worked ok. It crashes my XP if I try to disconnect the player though. I haven't checked to see if Vista does the same thing. Anyone else have similar issues with this device?

Other than that little XP thing, which I can work around, its a great player. TY again OP.

Works awesome, just got mine today ... it didn't look refurbed or anything, I think they're trying to clear out stock though. But for $70, this is WAY worth it.

Is it drag and drop in MY COMPUTER or do you HAVE TO install software first?

If you turn it off and then on again, does it resume playing where you left off?

Thanks

Just got this today, got here fast!
Just like previous buyers, this one came in a retail box.
Looks brand new! Maybe there just getting rid of the 20 gig model?

Thanks again OP, my daughter is going to love this
for her birthday!

Works with WMP10 and up - is not a drag and drop player.

Yes it does resume.

I use CDex to rip my MP3's and Winamp to play them.
I was hoping I could just drag 'n' drop.
It says it can be used as an external HD.
You would think that would meant that you can drag 'n' drop.
Too bad.

Thanks

MIne broke. won't power up. All i get it a blue light on the button, nothing on the screen, nothing after hitting the reset button. Nothing after sitting for a day on the charger. Damn thing just quit working. Damn this pisses me off. I hope they honor their warranty.

I got mine the other day..the box looked new, but upon opening it you could tell it was refurbished. It is still in great condition so I think it is a good value.

Also, to clear up the confusion..you CAN drag and drop music with Windows XP SP2. I didn't install any software and when I plugged it into the USB port, it recognized it as a Creative Zen Sleek Photo and let me open it up in Windows Explorer and copy mp3s over.

I got mine on Wednesday. The box had a slight tear on the back, but everything looked brand new inside and never opened. I had a Zen Micro Photo and I like the Zen Sleek a lot more. Barely larger than the ZMP and the controls are much better. GP

Try eBay. Creative is selling some there. No super saver shipping but the price is the same I think.
I just got off the phone with Marsha (ext 8134) at their customer service/ sales center 1-800-998-1000 and she's replacing my broken one because it's within the 30 day window. She seemed pretty nice and they are sending me a return label UPS postage paid. I hope the others don't start failing now.

Does this player have a 'car profile' like some other Zen players? IE it will turn on and off automatically depending on whether there is external power irregardless of battery power level.

There's an "Idle Sleep" setting that turns it off after 5, 15 or 30 minutes of inactivity (located under System/Player Settings. That's the closest thing.

For existing owners of the sleek photo, have you seen/ bought any cases that might fit the device? Aside from the offical one from the site of course.

I got a silicone case beltclip and armband from eBay (search "Silicone Skin Case for Zen Sleek") for $14 shipped and am very satisfied with it.

Mine came in today, couldnt be happier with the player itself. Looks and feels good, the size is about right too imo (lost my N10 for it being too small 🙁)

That being said, I have the same issue with the device recognition on this computer I am typing on. Maybe I should give a shot on another box.

As for the leather case, I think its well worth the discounted price of $9.99. Looks like they are using a pair of magnets to secure the flap shut snuggly, comfier than say a velcro. Funny thing though, is how the box bears the sticker that reads "made in malaysia", while the case itself has a label that says "made in china". So which one is it 😀

Nice...just ordered it. I sold my 2+ year old Dell DJ20 on Ebay for the exact cost of the Zen, and was just waiting for it to go back in stock.
