SAWEET!!!!!! I just picked one up right now. I don't have any type of MP3 player or have ever had one except for the crappy 1GB on my cellphone. Damn I can't wait until I get this in and for that price!!!!!

I can confirm that this is a sweet deal. FM radio, microphone recording, and an OLED color screen are huge pluses IMO. It seems far more durable than Apple's offerings as well...

Just be careful inserting and removing headphones, that headphone jack looks like a potential weak spot.

That's why I'm glad I got this since Apple hasnt gotten the deal with the built-in FM tuner. I listen to talk radio a lot so that's a plus and everywhere I've read reviews say that it sounds really good even compared to iPods. I don't really care about photos since that's not what I'm getting it for. Micophone recording could come in handy at some meetings I have at work so I won't have to write down everything and the OLED screen looks beautiful. I can't wait to get this.

just about to pull the trigger, but noticed they have a letter case for $9.99. is that any good, or even required? if it exposes all the controls & LCD to be accessible, might be ok for that price.
snagging the DAP regardless, though.

Just got mine. It may be refurb, but if it is, it's in sealed plastic (the kind that's impossible to open) with all of the accessories- definitely not an "openbox" kind of refurbished, at any rate.

Man I wish my old Zen touch 40gb would break... This sleek has everything I wanted before like the color screen, plug and play, and smaller body (but almost the same battery life). My dumb touch is like a friggen tank so I can't slip this one past my wife without an actual "need".

I wish all you luck with your new toys. You guys don't know how many times I have added this to my cart just to turn around and take it off again...

Throw your touch on ebay of in the fs forum... I don't know how much they're fetching now a days, but it can't be too far off of 69.99... Of course you will be taking a hit the storage area; but how much of that 40gb are you really using? 😛

Does this player have a 'car profile' like some other Zen players? IE it will turn on and off automatically depending on whether there is external power irregardless of battery power level.

I don't think so, I've gone through the menus and don't see anything like that mentioned. Still a great player though!

i was teetering on order this thurs/friday, then finally said what the hell today, if all else fails itll come in handy for file transfers as a small external HD

i really hope its a new one like everyone's been saying.

mine came today, it was brand new in the box.

The manual says that this cannot be used while jogging?

WTF?!

whats the point of an mp3 player if you cant carry it with you?

oh..and its pretty heavy

By the way, Creative has the worst Customer Support I've ever seen. Last time I needed driver for my old Audigy 1 I emailed them the model number from the PCB itself because it was not listed on the website and they offered me to buy a year of support service. I installed the driver for the card with the name that looked right but has slightly different model number and it worked fine. Last Wednesday I emailed them that my computer doesn't see my Creative Zen MicroPhoto and they haven't replied yet. 🙁

Two different markets:

HD-based players SHOULD NOT be used while running as the shock will lead to premature death...

The upside? Higher capacities and more features on these sort of players. Strictly for people walking around though.

Flash-based players can be used while moving with no moving parts. The downside is less capacity and fewer features.

This is true, and you'll find that the full size ipods have the same limitations.

BTW, just got mine today. The unit is in perfect condition, but it wasn't in a plastic bag (as I would have expected). The accessories were, though.

Just got mine today. Brand new. Very nice deal. Thanks OP...I dont go running with this one, but you can walk and lift weights and use it in your car...20gb is very nice...store lots o songs.

I will use my Sansa for running.

These are awesome for grad gifts. And the recording function could be extremely nice for those looking forward to their hectic freshman year of college.

Also, very sweet the way the system autoscans the FM channels and puts them into memory for you. And how you can record FM radio directly to mp3.

So far, I like.

I got mine today too. It is great seeing as I have never had an MP3 player. It sounds really good and I thought it would be bigger. The screen is nice and the touch pad on the front is easy to get used to. It's not as easy to use as an ipod but hell, for the price, this is an awesome buy. I didn't feel like spending $250 on an ipod. I love the radio that ipods dont have and you can record anything like stated above and the microphone is faily good and catches sound fairly clear. It's not a bad looking player at all although i wish the screen was larger but i didnt get it for the screen. The outside package has a few bumps in it but was sealed as was the inside. It was in perfect condition. It's a great buy for the price.

It was perfect for me. I like to be able to listen to radio, I wanted to be able to record lectures, and I wanted a portable music player with good battery life. It performs all these functions admirably well, so I'm going to get another one for my sis 😉

For existing owners of the sleek photo, have you seen/ bought any cases that might fit the device? Aside from the offical one from the site of course.
