I finally beat it. I remember playing it on N64 back when I was in elementary school. I never really got that far at all, and kind of just played it off and on. Now that I had some spare time this summer, I downloaded it on Wii back in June, and I have played it an hour here or there since then. This game just aged so well. I play modern PC games regularly with top notch graphics, but it something about Zelda that is just so great, poor graphics or not. The storyline is just very addicting.

Don't mean to be a dick, but did you know that we have a console gaming forum now? Lots of good stuff in there.

Haha, I guess I'm probably only around six years older than you, but I was in highschool when that came out. When I was in elementary school, the NES (and then SNES) was the thing to have.

I have the Gamecube version of it, and still haven't finished it. To me Link to the Past is the best Zelda game.

Another favorite from the SNES days... Secret of Mana. I'd love to see that either on the DS or the Virtual Console.

I prolly played those games eleventy billion times. I think the best I did in Super Metroid was under 2 hours completion at nearly 100% or something.

Damn...my life sucked back then :p

Lets see.. for NES.. SMB3, Megaman 2, Contra, Castlevania. SNES Super Mario World, Final Fight, Super Mario Kart.. So many others, hard to list them all. I would say my favorite at the moment is still Counter Strike: Source. I never get sick of that game.

Earthbound was great. But Final Fantasy Tactics will always be my favorite. That's a storyline Shakespeare would be jealous of.

Meh...
Ogre Battle 64 >>> Final Fantasy Tactics.

And yes, Earthbound kicked ass. it's such a shame that they had to cancel Mother 3. :(

You have Smash Brothers, right?
Set the CPU to level 9 and allow both of them to battle 1vs1. 9 stock each, no items.

Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn) and Street Fighter Alpha 3 (ps1) stick out in my mind as near perfect. Obviously also all the ususals mentioned in these kinds of threads FF4/6/7/T, Chrono Trigger, Z:tOoT (damn you water dungeon!), Super Mario World

Edit: Xenogears!

Agreed. Kinda an obscure reference, but they finished that game about as well as Stephen King finshed the Dark Tower series.
