I can find the Mario set but not the Zelda set. I have no desire for a silver colored 3DS XL and the Mario game does not interest me that much. I may just go with a regular 3DS XL instead. I like the solid black or the black and blue one.
 
Stopped by walmart to get a price match for my $110 mario 3ds. They had boxes of mario and zelda in stock still, could just match the target price there.

Target doesn't have the Zelda or Mario bundles listed this week in their sale ad, would the walmart rep just call over?
 
I went ahead and got that rubberized casing for the 3DS XL that people linked in this thread. I haven't used it much yet but it seems pretty nice. I have large hands and it does in fact help with the feeling of making it secure in your hands as you use it for a long period. Not that I've used it for a long period with it on yet... I can just tell that it would based on how it feels and the issues I ran into when I would play OOT or Link Between Worlds for long stretches without it.
 
Is the Zelda bundle still considered limited edition if its still available? Not sure if I should just return it as I have a black 3ds xl already.

It can still mean that, limited could mean limited to 50 million copies if they wanted to, I see lots of them in local stores, so either they made a crap ton or it just didn't sell too well. Either way, it's so common that I don't think it'll ever have any better future value over regular 3ds in case that's what's the reason you have it. I would just take it back and get Zelda on cart unless you prefer the gold color.
 
Got it yesterday morning. have yet to be able to download it. Fairly annoying. Can access the shop sometimes but then it times out at some stage of the process. Would think it would work by today.

It's been down since yesterday. My cousin got a WiiU for Christmas, couldn't download his Zelda game at all.
 
yeah kinda stupid they don't have the games preinstalled on the systems. I imagine a lot of traffic would be eliminated. I have a flight tomorrow so hopefully this will be sorted out by this evening. If not I will be playing dark moon for 3 hours.
 
finally got around to opening my XL up. Package size doesn't seem that noticeable but next to each other the screen difference is much more apparent.
 
i thought it was quadruple the damage? Have other zelda games done more in hero mode?

when i had the shop up it was a 5-10 minute download.

It seems like double damage. The original Zelda second quest was different than the first play through. So, more damage means I just have to kill everything instead of running around it.
 
Eh, part of the charm of the 2nd quest in the original was that while it wasn't completely different, you had to actually explore and hunt for everything yet again.

Due to the more linear nature of all the zeldas since then, it's not as practical to make a different experience. Just taking more damage doesn't really make a "new mode" all that appealing.
 
yep but there is definitely a technique to it to get the heart. japanese love baseball...

i'm playing through wind waker HD for the first time since I missed the original, nota bad game, but with so much water/boating I'm amazed I can't FISH!
