It's too bad they don't have a cheaper version of the ID82 without HD/Ram. 420$ for that with a slow HD and 2 GB ram is a bit much imo.

They do, it's just OoS. The ID82-PLUS has the HDD and RAM. The ID82-U does not have RAM or HDD for ~$350

I have a ZBOX-ID40-PLUS and I like the size. Gets a little toasty even with an Atom but I use it as my linux terminal. Toss in a SSD and you're golden.
As for the Celeron over the Core i3, with the Celeron it doesn't have the Intel HD 2000 graphics even. The Celeron graphics have 6EU but lack QuickSync. The Core i3 has Intel HD 3000 graphics with QuickSync and the Core i3 has hyper threading. Just depends on your use case.
