Zbig, the author of The Grand Chessboard (which seems to have been the roots of PNAC philosophy) gave a speech to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in early February.

Here's a quote:

If the United States continues to be bogged down in a protracted bloody involvement in Iraq, the final destination on this downhill track is likely to be a head-on conflict with Iran and with much of the world of Islam at large. A plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran involves Iraqi failure to meet the benchmarks; followed by accusations of Iranian responsibility for the failure; then by some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the U.S. blamed on Iran; culminating in a "defensive" U.S. military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Here is an insider saying that the evil ones in our government are capable of such an act. At least we're being furtively told in advance of another 911 attack.

Will you fall for another lie like uranium cake, WMD's, etc. when you're told by the same people we have to invade Iran? I know Prof. John will.

By being a refuge to all the jihadis and terrorists who fled Afghanistan after the invasion, as well as a gateway into Afghanistan? <hijack> Funny how there's a great deal of internal Pakistani govt. support for terror and the Taleban, yet Iran helping the Iraqi Shia is all that's ever mentioned in the press & by the administration. No one's got the balls to come out and say Musharraf's idiotic plan for dealing with Waziristan hasn't improved the situation, if anything, its only slipped further. </hijack>

Pakistan has nukes. Iran doesn't have nukes yet. Gee I wonder why both nations wanted to acquire nukes.

I know what you mean, we might shoot missiles at an aspirin factory or something... I mean really, no President has even done anything like this before so why worry.

The US has basic secret plans already drafted to invade every Country on earth---so do all other major Countries---its simply what the armed forces do on a routine basis. Because those rough drafts form a basis for more detailed planning when and if the need arises.

However---under the GWB administration these plans do trigger terror in my mind---because its well known allegation that many in the GWB administration are urging GWB to bomb Iran. Already some in the GWB administration are talking about how Iranian made weapons are killing our troops in Iraq----and worse yet, we have three large air craft carrier groups already in place.----in short GWB has a dubious rationale and the assets are in all in place---all thats lacking is pulling the trigger.

We could literally just wake up one morning very soon---turn on the tube---and hear GWB tell us he has decided Iran is a terrorist threat---and that the Iranian bombing is already underway.

I very much hope I am totally wrong here---but while congress is talking---the US Navy has already moved into a potent strike force.

This time GWB&co. may not try to sell you a phony war like they did in Iraq---they will just present you with one

morkinva: People have been banned for 'calling out' posters like you did to ProfJohn in your initial post there. Just FYI.

As for the subject matter, sounds like our classic Scott Ritter thread. It's simply not going to happen.

Once the water in the toilet bowl reaches a certain spin velocity the results can no longer be affected by how you press the handle.

Scott Ritter isn't exactly an insider like Zbigniew Brzezinski. Kinda like comparing apples vs. oranges. When Brzezinski starts hinting of false flag terra events I would take notice.
