i think squalish was referring to the other junk in your case. heatsinks will definitely fit the socket it says it can, but often times the graphix card, the hard drive, and some other junk get in the way because it's an oversized heatsink.

I've got a Zalman USA CNPS7000B-AlCu HS in an Antec Aria Case with an AOPEN MK89-L micro atx mobo. It's tight but it fits perfectly.

Much better option than using Antec's offset clip for placing the HSF on the HS.

I had to bend pins on my zalman northbridge (a lot of them) in order to get this to fit along side it and a Zalman VGA heatsink.

This thing is ginormous! Cools great, though requires the fanmate at 5-6v for silence.

i have the 7000 from ZZF which kicks butt cost me 32 i think, temps are amazing on the huge things. the 7000 tapers down much smaller at the bas, no problem on an asus micro-atx board.

Yup, I have the CNPS7000A and its crazy. It just fits on my A7N8X but has plenty of room in my Chieftec Matrix. Its one heavy sucker though but cools pretty nicely...

Is the Cu version that much better? I got the 7700AlCu from Microcenter for $35.99, works great with my Asus A8N-SLI in Antec SX-1040 case. Plenty of space, although it's pretty close to the ram sticks. HUGE heatsink! Quiet, too- 120mm fan is definitely the reason- my Athlon XP-based system with Alpha cooler is much louder, even after replacing the fan with an Antec 25dB 80mm.

You should double-check the compatability list at Zalman's website, but I think I recall that it will not fit your motherboard.

I got the 7000b, since the 7700 doesn't fit my motherboard. It is an extremely tight fit since I forgot to account for my VGA Silencer Rev 3 which actually presses flush against my Zalman, but it still works fine. My heart did stop for a second there during installation though.
