Zalman or THermalright

I vote for the Thermalright sp-94. The sp-97 is amazing and I would expect the same performance from the sp-94 as I do from teh sp-97. Pair it up with a 92mm Vantec Tornado too. Never ever have to worry about anything getting too hot.

What about your ears bursting? 😛

lol, there is that problem. I would definitly recomend a fan controller AND nice pair noise canceling headphones 😉

I'd take a look at the Thermalright XP-120 it was just released and it the sucessor to the sp-94. Check thermalrights home page to see if your motherboard is compatible.

Hi,

i am using the 7000cu version, quite satisfy with this hsf.. however, if i have chance, i would try the sp94..

imho, i think it will perform a little slightly better than 7000A

I love my thermalright and Tornado combo but you will indeed need a fan controller. I just got my fan controller last week and I can finally sleep peacefully 😀

Holy cow, I think we've seen a new "Zalman or Thermalright" thread about once a week. Perhaps someone should write up a "Recommended HSF" article and get a mod to pin it. IMO such an article should be written by someone that isn't a quiet freak like Nebor (though he's a freak in a good way 😛 really!) and isn't an "OMG thremalTAek sUXors" hater. Something useful with suggestions in every price range and not just "get this heatsink, it RULES and so what that it costs as much as your CPU." Also, perhaps with links to several reputable online vendors.

I've had Zalman and Thermalright. I vote thermalright. The zalman is quiet, I prefer performance over silence. I wouldn't go with a tornado, unless you use a fan controller.
