I'm thinking of getting a Zalman 7000B for my FX-55 and I was wondering which cooled better the Cu or AlCu?

Thanks in advance.

I have an Al-Cu and it does a very good job, apart from being extremely quiet.
I believe the Cu version will give you a few degress less, but nothing spectacular.

The Cu will cool better, but then you're getting a LOT more weight on your board, which i wouldnt recommend.

This rig is just going to be sitting nice and pretty next to my desk, so I'm not to worried about the weight.

I have a 7000 Cu which is just fine. At no point when mounting to either a S478 or S939 does it seem too heavy.

It's the 7700Cu you need to watch out with. That's nearly a kilo, which IS a lot to attach to a mobo.
