Zalman FS-C77 (fatal1ty) hsf with 6300/Gigabyte DS3?

Basically need your help, guys, with compatibility of the above HSF with LGA775 cpus. I don't want to butcher and cut the box with the FS-C77 in it to find out that it won't mount on the DS3 mobo. If I know it won't work, I will just sell it for a Scythe Ninja or Infinity HSF. I googled for this combination (FS-C77 and Conroe), but in vain. Is 775 socket the same as LGA775? I am coming from AMD universe and have no clue. Please enlighten me.

Okay, installed the HSF, the fitment is fine - no issues with the RAM obstruction. Temps are 50-52C (core temp app), o/c'ed to 3Ghz. Gigabyte utility reports 35-37C. Under load - core temp - 55-56C, Gig. app - 40-42C. Disabled fan control, RPMs are 2200.
