Zalman fanmate mod? Well kind of a mod....

Needed some ideas on a simple mod for the zalman fanmate. Has anyone ever come up with an idea to make the knob longer? I need to make it about an inch or so longer than it is, but I'm not sure what I could use as an extension

Any ideas?
 
Press a piece of rubber gasoline hose, or vacuum line (get this stuff at an auto parts store) over the existing knob. Take the Fanmate with you so you can find a tubing size that fits snugly.
 
Keep putting a dot of glue on top of the knob every day. In about six months, it should be about the correct length.

Nah, in all seriousness, any kind of rubber/silicon tubing would be easiest. If you wanted something a little sturdier, use tight tubing to connect a plastic rod to the knob (you could add glue for extra strength) . Look around the hardware store where you get the tubing, they should have something.
