I bought a 92mm Zalman fan to replace my loud one. For some reason the fan stops spinning when I get to the screen to select which OS I want to run. It turns off completely and never goes back to spinning again. My old fan doesn't stop spinning.

Is it plugged into the motherboard which controls voltage based on temps? I'm assuming you're using the resistor as well.

Its plugged into the motherboard, I don't know about resistors and I don't know if my motherboard is controling the voltage of the fan. I don't see a green sensor thing on the fan. I plugged the Zalman fan on my downstairs computer and it was going full blast the whole time. When I plug it in the computer I want it to be in, it spins but doesn't blow any air and it stops spinning at the screen.

The resistor is the quiet mode adapter. Is there anything connected between the fan and the motherboard? Zalman fans usually have that quiet mode adapter.

It doesn't seem like your motherboard connector is providing enough power. What motherboard do you have?
