Zalman Fan Controller

My 5700u's tiny little fan is really loud and annoying, so I was thinking about getting a Zalman fan rpm controller, I just wanted to know if it would be compatable with my card, pin-wise and such. Do all new cards have a 3 pin setup?
 
the fanmate1, people said they used this on their graphics card fans? Is there a fan controller for graphics card fans?
 
I haven?t seen a single graphics card speed fan controller yet. Zalman has the multicontroller but that?s overkill for what you just want.

You could cut the 3pin end off a Fanmate1, plug it in the other side of the Fanmate1 and then you would have 2 open-loose ends that could be spliced into the fan line on your graphics card. Only cheap solution I can think of.
 
One more note. They do have 3pin to 2pin adapters ?

But they are probably hard to find. You could plug a Fanmate1 to a m/b header, plug the 3-2adapter in and you would be set to go. Only problem is the voltage of your graphics card fan. If it?s a 5v fan it won?t help because the m/b header is 12v and the Fanmate only adjusts 12v to ~ 5-11 ? lowest setting is 5v and your 5v fan would be running full speed. If your graphics fan is 12v you?d be set.

Some of he new NV cards ?may? have 12v fans ? not sure here? I?m just speculating because of the increased cooling requirements of the new cards.
 
Well I don't even know how many pins my video card's fan is, and the voltage for that matter, where do I find this out? I've looked around google a lot, but to no avail.
 
Besides, with the heat output of most video cards today it might be dangerous to undervolt the fan on your GPU unless the GPU is underclocked and/or undervolted.

my card runs at 39'c when idle, and 52'c MAX, under load, when overclocked. The threshhold is 129'c, couldn't I stand a little RPM reduction?
