Good. Zalman coolers were great before the advent of heatpipes in CPU coolers, then they just went downhill trying to do the same thing that was giving them ever smaller gains compared to the competitors.

A few months ago, when I was setting up my first Ci7, I decided to just get a CNPS9900LED. I've always been pleased with Zalman in the past. In fact if I was happy with stock speeds, the Zalman would be fine. The catch is that I never had intentions of running "stock" speeds. So I eventually decided to go with a Prolimatech Megahalems. And not more than an hour after ordering that I heard about this new Zalman.... And It's sad to say it this way but... it's too little to late. Comparing the mounting solutions; Zalman 9900 vs. PM - the PM is far more secure and easy to mount. And if I compare the heat-sinks proper the Zalman CNPS10x has 5 heat-pipes to the PM's 6. And even though the Zalman CNPS10x might have more surface area, it's so easy to mount two fans on the PM. And since the price, with a good fan on the PM, is about the same. I can't say I'm terribly interested in this new CNPS10x!

If I decide to water-cool the new Ci7 system I'm building for my main rig, the PM will be moved to the secondary system (this current CPU/motherboard/RAM combo). If I don't do that, I'll drop the clock on this system to 3.2GHz, lower the VCore, and just use the CNPS9900LED. Either way, Zalman doesn't make another sale. Though I do wish this cooler had been available sooner.

I do agree that it's a bit late since there are plenty of coolers on the market that perform roughly the same as the Zalman that have been on the market for a while. However, I'm hoping that this is a sign that Zalman is abandoning their antiquated design and adopting more efficient designs for their future product lines.
