Zalman CNPS9700

WOW......my 9500 is already huge and it's in a small case....i doubt the 9700 would fit in it (sonata II)

the thread is about zalman coolers,,there is always one in the bunch though who has to try to hijack the thread..

Also note on the Zalman website there is no mention of the 9700 or the 9800.....http://www.zalman.co.kr/

So we just wait and see...

also just a quick note..from what I understand the only thing different between the 9500 and the 9700 is that Zalman has been working on the noise issue and the 9700 will not be available in LED Blue as is the 9500!!

the thread is about zalman coolers,,
...it started specifically about one cooler, the 9700

noise issue?...arent we talking about the great Zalman here 😕 ..... to think as a company they talk of silent computing, and then they release the 9500, which dont cool too well unless u can hear it
no led for the 9700 ?... best feature of the 9500 IMO.

an LED version will likely be launched if history is any indicator (but i dont think its the best feature of the 9500 by a long shot)

You always strive to get even quieter...
From what I understand with the 9700 you will not have a fan speed controller to control the speed of the fan as well as the noise....and no led on the 9700.

Corsa if you would like to contribute alittle more thab sarcasm that would be nice!!

I think they'll start using the Fluid Dynamic Bearings that AC and Scythe are employing in their fans. Might make a difference in noise I would think.

I don't know why there's speculation that there won't be an LED for the 9700... in the second picture from the link it clearly has a purple LED, which in my opinion, looks damn nice.

What are you, a Thermaltake sales rep? I've built a system with a zalman cnps9500 - it cools very well, and it's not loud either. Just because you can hear it doesnt mean it's loud. Show me at least one high performance cooler that's completely silent...

I agree. If the 9500 had a weakness it was it's fan it's the one thing keeping from competing with the SI-120 and XP-90 in terms of noise to performance. I'm also glad to see the LED gone...

How much torque do you think that thing will put on a motherboard? I mean I know they have the copper as thin as possible and that they test these things for safety, but sheesh... that thing must weigh a ton. I definitely wouldn't move my computer with that thing installed.

PS: if it doesn't have the stupid blue led (at least as an option) I'll be a happy guy, and I might even get one if it doesn't cost $100, which I'm sure it will.
