Zalman CNPS9500 fan slow?

it doesn't feel as if it's blowing at 77cfm, i have the fan mate at full blast and i hardly feel any air

temps didn't change at all but i needa relap it with arctic silver whenever i get mine in (currently using the zalman thermal compound that came with the 9500)

for those who has the 9500, do you feel the fan blowing?

I doubt it's 77 cfm. This is a cooler designed to be quiet so I don't think 77 cfm is that possible. More like 47 cfm at full speed. Even so, some of the air does get out through the fins. You shouldn't feel that much directly out the back of the thing.

perhaps newegg mislabeled 🙂 thanks for the quick reply, thought mine was broke and needed to be RMA'ed 😉 looks sexxi tho, mmm

Yes--the rated airflow is accurate!! 75-80cfm!!

With that said....
The Zalman works best if you under volt it to 5v using the fan speee controller that it ships with!!

Also with the setup that the Zlamna has you really want to be careful that you use the potential of the 9500 to augment your present case air flow!!

I have the air directed towards my rear exghuast fan!!

I have my Zalman 9500 on my AMD rigg!!

Good Luck!!

rox1co: yes, turn it around. you have the zalman sucking air from an exhaust fan and pushing air to an intake fan.

no worries, i got my setup perfect. it just doesn't seem to be blowing that much air :\ also, i have it connected to the mobo so it spins 100% 24/7

You also say it is connected to the Mobo so it spins at 100% - but some Mobos regulate the CPU fan speed depending on CPU temperature. Make sure that isn't on.

lol... this is true, and is a problem. do it fast, turn it around. and when are you going to answer the question, "where are you putting your hand to feel the air?"

yeah that thing... cus i need to find out where to get one for my next build if its air...

gonna have a dedicated wind tunnel for my cpu and gpus

mostly BTX cases include them

http://aerocool.us/p-case/spiral-galaxies/spiral-galaxies.htm (aerocool spiral galaxies)
http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-tj06.htm (silverstone tj-06)

the wind-tunnel is only dedicated to my CPU and RAM

i would recommend full ATX cases, so much freakn room, and the aerocool spiral galaxies is ez
