Anyone have any idea where to put the cpu temp probe on the zalman cnps7700. Seems the heatsink has only two open sides, and no room (screw heads in the way). I broke 2 probes trying. Another thing, the fanmate2 broke after one day, so i hooked it up direct to the cpu fan control on the mobo, that ok?
 
Connecting direct to the motherboard is fine, some fans don't like it because mobos use PWM instead of voltage regulation to control fan speed. Zalman fans are pretty much immune from this.

For the thermal probe, use thermal tape to attack it to the side of the die before the heatsink is attached. Let's see if I can track down a picture...
