Zalman CNPS7700!

zalman jus made their 7000 bigger....its now 140mm ! and has a 113mm fan to boot, this thing looks magnificent, and should be uber quiet and cool very well to boot

most importantly......its good for socket 775!

It's a good one. Cools my CPU [in sig] 32C idle / 42-43C load from upper 30's idle / 51-53C load (stock AMD HSF) after 20 minutes of Prime95's "In-place large FFTs" torture test.

P.S.: Not a scientific comparison (i.e. difference between the 2 in ambient temps, AS5 curing time, etc.)

Nice review, peformance dosn't seem that much better though. Looks like the 7000 might be the better choice considering its smaller size, weight and price tag.

i ordered this fan this past sunday, will receive it friday and will install that night or saturday. i currently get temps of 32 idle 51 load with amd athlon 64 3400 standard hsf (which are pretty good temps, i think). curious to see what difference this monster will have on the cpu as well as the rest of the pc.

Is it really much better than the 7000B? I'm thinking of getting either the 7000B-AlCu or the 7700-AlCu - the only differences I can see are:

Pro 7700: more airflow, bigger fan
Con 7700: heavier (over spec), noisier by a bit

Having some trouble deciding here...

I almost went with the 7000... the 7700 is just ridiculous looking IMO.. even my XP-90 looks ungodly big in my PC case!

ugly ugly ugly. Xp 90 is just so much cooler looking. heatpipes? hell yes. how cool is that. who wants a heatsink modelled after a "flower" 🙁 plus... its RED gaH!!!!!!!! silver xp90. so sweet. damn good cooling too never felt it get hot and my temps are 31 idle to 39 LOAD with a 3200+ @ 2.4ghz thats a change of EIGHT DEGREES. Xp90 fullstop.
