I stumbled upon a site that says these two are incompatible. Is this true?

Also do you know how much the heatsink would hang over the edge of the motherboard?

I think its a problem with capacitors. I instead went with a Thermalright SLK947U which I ended up having to mill off the 2 extrusions on the black bracket thing cause of the caps. SLK 900U is supposed to fit no problem.

They're compatible or not, depending on how you look at it.
If you just try to put it on, it won't fit. However, if you hack off some part of the HSF which is used for mounting on S754 boards, it fits, with the disadvantage of not being able to move it to a S754 board later. Dunno what exactly you have to hack off though, I don't actually have one.

Actually I found a site that said the only reason it was inconpatible was it didnt have the 4 mounting holes for the heatsink, but not the newer ones do and Zalman just hasn't updated their list.
