I am not sure, but I know the XP90 with a panaflo works great. I have 2 X2's using them, and soon an 820D just to see how bad it really is !

The Zalman should work, it'll be better than stock at the very least.

I tried cooling my X2-4200 with a CNPS7000-CU (using AS5), with mixed success.

Once I loaded the cores (2 sessions Prime95 @ stock clock) the temps climbed into the 60's (Celcius). The stock cooler that came with the 4200 (the heat-pipe AVC model) was better as it stayed in the 50's, but it was much noisier.

You can try it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you are going to OC, protect your investment (X2 chips aren't cheap) and get a good cooler (Big Typhoon, XP90/90C/120, Si-120, CNPS9500, etc...)

An X2 is probably too much for an aluminum Zalman. My vote goes to the Big Typhoon ;)

well I popped in the 3800 with the Zalman and cranked it right up to 2400Mhz at stock voltage... No problem. Everest says my temps are 37-39 at idle.... is this ok or too high? Which cooler will fit in my A8N-SLI Deluxe out of the ones you guys recommend (Big Typhoon, XP90/90C/120, Si-120, CNPS9500, etc...) Thanks!

the zalman 7000cu couldn't handle my x2 3800 @ 2600 and up. i was hitting 54-56c with dual primes.

with the xp-90, i'm running 2700 @ 1.44v and load is 48c.

rise: where did you get you xp90? I've narrowed it down to that and the Big Typhoon (for $15 more)... Thanks!
