Hi, I have a couple of questions about cooling my XP 2000+ and trying to lower the db level. Right now I have the stock cooler for my athlon and it is kind of loud for me. I was looking around the internet and found some reviews for Zalman CNPS 6000-Cu "flower" heatsink. Has anybody had any luck with this heatsink and the accompanying fan? If so, is it pretty quiet? Also, is it possible to replace the northbridge fan on my Abit AT7-MAX2? Would a passive heatsink work or does it require active cooling?

Finally, does anybody know where I can get the specs for my 2000+'s stock heatsink fan? Or who makes them?

Whew! Thanks in advance for any replies and/or bumps.

1.) no experience w/ the Zalman flower Heatsinks but i hear they're supposed to provide "minimum" cooling but dead silent. you'd get a similiar effect w/ MUCH better cooling w/ a high quality HS like the AX-7 w/ a low CFM fan like the Panaflo L1.

2.) you CAN replace the active cooling on your northbridge w/ a good passive HS like this Zalman one.

3.) as for specs on the stock fans, i'm guessing AMD makes them but they're not very good, not near "performance cooling". you'll get better cooling from a solid $6 Coolermaster HS.
