The instructions on the Zalman 9700 tell you to face the airflow towards the back of the case and have the 120mm drag the hot air out for best results.

Well i have tried it that way and i have also tried it with both fans reversed, the 120mm dragging cold air into the case and the Zalman then dragging the cold air through that releasing the hot air into the case (120mm in front pulling out, and 80mm in front under DVD bays pulling out) also 2 80mm in the side blowing into the case.

The temps with the recommended Zalman setup were 39C Idle and 59C load (3800+ x2 @ 2.8ghz 1.55vcore)

The temps with fans and HS reversed same OC and everything were 32C Idle and 51C load. I tried both setups twice, thinking i might have used a different amount of AS5 or seated the HS wrong, but both times yielded the same temps within 0-1C

I know alot of people with this cooler do not have the room to fit an extra 80MM and 120MM in the front to help drag all the hot air out, but if you can do it I atleast suggest to try it out.
