Hello!

Currently I have a X2 3800+ in my computer and on top sits a Zalman 9500. With 939 dying, I'm gonna buy a Opteron 170 and clock it as much as possible (the old 3800+ will go into another rig). I guess my question is, is it worth the $229.00 extra to get the Zalman Reserator over keeping my Zalman 9500?

Thanks.

why would you buy a new cpu right now- given that yours is pretty much top of the line, with Conroe around the corner and all. that said.. i'd also wait for reserator 2 (or is it 3? The new one regardless) which should be out by the time conroe is - a better pairing if you can wait a bit...

9500 actually cools better, I think. The Reserator is entirely passive, which means quiet. It keeps the CPU cool enough, but not as cold as the 9500 (which is active).

I'm curious about Zalman's Reserator 2, though.
